Do I Need To Reduce Carbs Intake To Build Beautiful Six Pack Muscles?

You need to reduce the “bad” carbs you consume on a day to day basis if you want your six pack abs. But this is not the only thing you need to cut down on. You need to cut your unhealthy eating habits and your lazy acts. Start going to the gym so that you can have your six-pack sooner. Now, you might ask, how can I do it?

Let us discuss food.

Do you believe that the better tasting the food, the more calories it has? Not necessarily. You can make healthy substitutes for your meals and it can still taste great. Food taste is all about programming your mind: this tastes good because it can help me achieve a better body. Stick to that mantra and you will soon realize that healthy eating can be delicious too.

Now, there are 5 high-carb foods that you need to stay away from at all costs. No sample tasting either. If you want to get your abs in 6 months, you have to restrict yourself and say NO to these:

1. White flour

It has no nutritional value whatsoever. One slice can provide 150 calories which go directly to your fat deposits. So, say no to cakes, white bread, muffins and the likes. (You need to eat carbs every day but the healthiest source of that is brown rice and whole wheat flour. You can consume at most 11 servings of these carbs in one day. For brown rice, 1 serving is half a cup. For every major meal, eat at most 1 cup. 1 slice of whole wheat bread is 1 serving too so if you make a sandwich, that will be 2 servings. Corn and potato fall under this category as well. If you eat 1 medium cob, that is one serving. Half a cup of unsalted mashed potatoes is considered 1 serving too.)

2. French fries and potato chips

Kick it to the curb! It is one of the least nutritious foods every created. Why? Potato is a healthy snack, yes, if it was baked or broiled. But with french fries and potato chips which were dipped in trans fat oils and splashed with preservatives, it can never be a healthy snack. If you can manage to stay away from it, put your foot down and stay away.

3. Corn syrup high in fructose

If you can take a hint, this means SODA DRINKS. No. This is a sin to drink to consume if you want to have beautiful six pack abs. You are advised not to consume white sugar right? Well, white sugar in water is better than this one.

Read the label before you drink or eat anything with corn syrup. It can be detrimental for your healthy eating goal. Did you know that this attacks the liver directly after consumption? I bet you don’t know it. Well now you do, so stay away from it.

4. Lean cuisines – frozen and boxed

This is such an irony. There is no substitute for real and natural food. Anything wrapped, boxed and packaged which you can buy from the grocery and says LEAN DIET FOOD is a farce. Do not believe it. Anyway, why settle for a 2-minute boxed grilled chicken was has tons of seasonings that you do not know when you can make your very own at home and include all the tastiest herbs you can find? Anything processed is bad for you.

5. Fast food

This is the real deal. There is not healthy fast food chain anywhere in the world. If it comes to your with packaging already and is served to you in 2-3 minutes tops, there is nothing healthy about that. Sure, you can make 5-minute fast meals at home. So stick to that. It is not worth it to exercise so hard and just throw it all away with a burger and apple pie.

Now, why is there a need to control intake of carbs?

Do not mistake this advice for completely eliminating carbs from your diet. Carbs are very essential in your day to day life because it fuels you. It is your energy to go on with your day especially during your workout so you can have your 6-pack abs. So lack of it is not good. An excess of carbs will form as fat and that is the worse.

Learning more about carbs…

There are three types of carbs – simple, complex and fibrous. The fibrous carbs are those coming from green veggies. It makes you feel full longer because it takes a long time to digest it. Complex carbs are the good carbs like whole wheat flour, potato without the oil and such. Eat these foods in moderation. Simple carbs are let’s just say it bluntly, destructive carbs. These are carbs coming from sweets and this can make you binge for more which will resort to a flabby midsection.

So, I need carbs?

You have to be reminded that good carbs (whole wheat, oats, brown rice, veggies and fruits) are nutritious and needed. You also have to remember that bad carbs (candy, soda, sports drinks and the likes) is the enemy. Eating sweet foods or oil is not hindered. But if you choose sweet, pick natural like honey and sugar cane. If you choose oil, consume canola, coconut or olive oil but to an extent of 2 tablespoons each day.

Yes, you have to reduce your intake of carbs especially if it is simple carbs. Better yet, delete it from your diet and never lay a hand on it. Always opt for a healthier choice – if you want ice cream, you can make one using non fat milk, honey and fruits. There are also low-fat yogurts just to satisfy your craving. But most importantly, and if you can, eat a substantial amount of good carbs so that you will have your 6-pack abs soon.

If you eat right, the carbs you consume will be burned effectively. You can eat more good carbs (11 servings of grains, 3 servings of fruit and 5 servings of veggies) because you are working out. So you are consuming more, you are full most of the time and yet, you are losing fat and building your six pack. This is how it is done. This is your road to building your six pack muscles.
